The Co-op has a long history of addressing social injustice and supporting workers’ rights. Which is why we are doing everything we can to prevent modern slavery taking place in our supply chains and own operations. We are also actively campaigning on modern slavery – lobbying for better support for victims of modern slavery, providing paid work placements to victims through our Bright Future programme, and raising awareness of modern slavery among our colleagues, members and customers. With the support of Programme Challenger, we have set up a network to bring together businesses in Greater Manchester so we can share best practice in addressing slavery, and identify opportunities for collaboration.
