When the Modern Slavery Coordination Unit (MSCU) was established in 2015, unlike some other forms of criminality it quickly became apparent that modern slavery was a hidden crime within Greater Manchester, with an incomplete intelligence picture and low numbers of identified victims, offenders and resulting crimes.
As a result of this Programme Challenger launched GMP's first campaign in relation to human trafficking and modern slavery with the tagline - "Would You?"
Would You recognise the signs of potential modern slavery?
This was a general awareness raising campaign for both the public and professionals within Greater Manchester. Please see below Would You campaign resources.
